Step 1 — Soothe & Seal
CHATTO® Omega Gold Shea Conditioning Hairdress
Before cleansing, apply a small amount directly to dry, itchy-feeling, flaky-looking, or tight areas of the scalp. Massage gently with the fingertips.
Allow the product to remain on the scalp for approximately 10–15 minutes before cleansing. Omega Gold helps soften dry buildup, condition the scalp, and prepare both the scalp and hair for the cleansing process.
For continued maintenance, apply a very small amount to affected scalp areas daily or as needed. Avoid applying excessive amounts to locs or tightly formed styles.
If itching, visible flaking, or scalp dryness persists, Omega Gold may be continued as a targeted scalp-conditioning treatment. Persistent, painful, inflamed, bleeding, or worsening scalp symptoms should be evaluated by a qualified healthcare professional.
Step 2 — Residue-Free Cleanse
CHATTO® Uni-Loc™ Residue-Free Shampoo
Wet the hair and scalp thoroughly. Apply the shampoo directly to the scalp or work a small amount between the palms.
Massage gently through the scalp and roots, allowing the lather to travel through the length of the hair. Avoid aggressive rubbing, twisting, or bunching of locs.
Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Repeat only when the hair or scalp has significant buildup.
Step 3 — Shampoo-Bar Cleanse
CHATTO® Uni-Locs™ Shampoo Bar
Wet the shampoo bar and work it between wet hands to create a rich lather. Apply the lather—not excessive direct rubbing of the bar—to the scalp and hair.
Massage gently, paying special attention to areas with persistent residue or buildup. Rinse extremely well.
When performing an intensive treatment wash, the shampoo bar may be used as a second cleanse after the Residue-Free Shampoo. For routine wash days, alternate between the liquid shampoo and shampoo bar when two cleanses are unnecessary. Using both during every wash may over-cleanse hair that is already extremely dry.
Step 4 — Deep Condition
Purely Organics Earth & Beyond Coconut–Shea Deep Penetrating Conditioner
After cleansing, gently remove excess water. Apply the conditioner throughout the hair, concentrating on dry, weak, damaged, or overworked sections.
For locs and tightly formed styles, use a controlled amount and distribute it thoroughly to avoid product being trapped inside the hair.
Allow the conditioner to remain on the hair for approximately 10–20 minutes. For a more intensive treatment, cover the hair with a plastic cap and use gentle heat when appropriate.
Rinse thoroughly.
RINSE OUT COMPLETELY.
Step 5 — Condition & Rebuild
Purely Organics 6-Plus Growth Leave-In Conditioner
Apply a light, even amount to clean, damp hair. Concentrate on dry, weakened, fragile, and breakage-prone areas.
Distribute gently through the hair without oversaturating locs or protective styles. This step helps restore lightweight moisture after cleansing and deep conditioning while supporting softness, flexibility, and manageability.
LEAVE IN. DO NOT RINSE.
Step 6 — Refresh & Hydrate
CHATTO® Uni-Locs™ Aloe Conditioning Daily Moisture Spray
Mist lightly over the hair and scalp after applying the leave-in conditioner. Allow the mist to settle into the hair, then gently distribute it with the hands.
Use daily or whenever the hair and scalp need lightweight moisture. The spray may also be used between wash days to refresh locs, dreadlocks, microlocs, twists, braids, and other protective styles.
Do not saturate the hair. Apply enough to refresh and hydrate without leaving the hair excessively wet.
Step 7 — Targeted Damage Control

Apply a small amount directly to thinning-looking edges, fragile sections, breakage-prone areas, and dry or stressed areas of the scalp.
Massage gently with the fingertips. Distribute a light amount through vulnerable sections of the hair as needed. Avoid heavy application or oversaturation.
Use once daily or as needed. For severely dry or weakened areas, a small amount may be applied morning and evening.

Step 8 — Pre-Treat & Repair
CHATTO® Intensive Pre-Treatment & Daily Repair Oil
For weekly pre-shampoo care, apply a small amount directly to the scalp and fragile areas 15–30 minutes before cleansing. Massage gently. Cover the hair with a plastic cap and use gentle heat when appropriate.
Proceed with the cleansing and conditioning steps.
For continued maintenance, apply a few drops to dry, fragile, thinning-looking, or breakage-prone areas daily or several times weekly. Massage gently and avoid oversaturating the scalp or locs.
The Repair Oil and Omega Gold should remain part of the continuing maintenance routine—not only the initial treatment wash.
Continued Maintenance Schedule
Daily or As Needed
- Mist the hair and scalp lightly with the Aloe Conditioning Daily Moisture Spray.
- Apply Formula 2 sparingly to fragile, thinning-looking, or breakage-prone areas.
- Use Omega Gold sparingly on persistently dry, itchy-feeling, or flaky-looking scalp areas.
- Apply a few drops of the Intensive Pre-Treatment & Daily Repair Oil to vulnerable areas when needed.
Several Times Weekly
- Use the Repair Oil on fragile edges, stressed areas, and thinning-looking sections.
- Continue Omega Gold on dry scalp areas as needed.
- Refresh the hair with the Aloe Conditioning Spray to maintain moisture.
Weekly or According to Hair Needs
- Perform a full treatment wash.
- Use the Residue-Free Shampoo and shampoo bar together only when a deeper double cleanse is needed.
- Follow cleansing with the rinse-out deep conditioner.
- Apply the leave-in conditioner, moisture spray, and Formula 2.
- Use the Repair Oil as a 15–30-minute pre-shampoo treatment.
Important Usage Guidance
- Apply all concentrated products sparingly.
- Heavy application may cause buildup, especially inside mature locs.
- Rinse both cleansing products and the deep conditioner thoroughly.
- Do not rinse the Purely Organics Leave-In Conditioner or Formula 2.
- Avoid aggressive scratching, rubbing, twisting, or pulling of fragile areas.
- Reduce tension from tight braids, extensions, weaves, loc maintenance, or protective styles when the scalp feels sore or stressed.
- Patch-test before first use.
- Avoid contact with the eyes.
- Discontinue use if irritation develops.
