Product Purpose

Chatto® Mom & Daughter™ Frizz Control softens, moisturizes and prepares textured hair before applying Twist & Grow Crème.

Its rich botanical oils and butters help smooth dry strands, control frizz and improve flexibility. By softening the hair first, it allows Step 5: Twist & Grow Crème to enhance the natural curl, coil or wave pattern with better definition, moisture and flexible hold.

Mom & Daughter prepares and softens the hair. Twist & Grow then defines and holds the desired style.

Directions

After applying Step 3: Chatto® Hair Loss Repair & Rebuild Leave-In Conditioner, divide damp hair into manageable sections.

Apply a small amount of Mom & Daughter™ Frizz Control to each section. Distribute evenly from roots to ends, concentrating on dry, frizzy or coarse areas.

Gently smooth or comb the product through the hair. Do not oversaturate.

Follow immediately with Step 5: Chatto® Twist & Grow Crème to define twists, curls, coils, roller sets or other textured styles.

For Twists and Twist-Outs

Apply Mom & Daughter to damp, sectioned hair to soften and control frizz.
Apply Twist & Grow Crème over each prepared section.
Twist the hair into the desired style.
Allow it to dry completely before separating the twists.

For Roller Sets

Apply a small amount to damp hair before Twist & Grow Crème. Comb through evenly, set the hair on rollers and allow it to dry completely.

For Blow-Drying

Apply sparingly to damp hair for softness, moisture and frizz control. Follow with the appropriate heat protectant before blow-drying.

What This Does

CHATTO® Mom & Daughter™ Gold Cream Frizz Control & Hair Softener is a rich botanical moisture-sealing treatment formulated to soften dry hair, smooth frizz and flyaways, improve manageability, and help prevent moisture from escaping from the hair.

For textured, curly and coily hair, Mom & Daughter™ is applied immediately after the CHATTO® Repair Leave-In Conditioner. The Leave-In provides moisture and conditioning; Mom & Daughter™ follows to soften the hair and help lock that moisture in before The Rain™ and Hair Soil™ continue the daily growth-maintenance treatment.

This product is especially valuable for hair that repeatedly becomes dry, hard, rough, frizzy, or difficult to manage, even after moisture has been applied.

It is not simply a styling cream. Within the CHATTO® Method, it serves as a moisture-retention and hair-softening treatment.

How To Use It

STEP 4 — SOFTEN & LOCK IN MOISTURE

The application order is different for textured hair and straight/fine hair.

TEXTURED • CURLY • COILY HAIR

After applying Step 3 — CHATTO® Repair Leave-In Conditioner, DO NOT RINSE the Leave-In Conditioner.

While the hair is still moisturized, take a small amount of Mom & Daughter™ between the palms and gently distribute through the hair, concentrating on dry areas, fragile ends, and sections that lose moisture quickly.

Use only the amount the hair needs.

The purpose at this stage is to soften the hair and lock in the moisture provided by the Leave-In Conditioner.

Then proceed to:

STEP 5 — THE RAIN™ Moisture Mist

followed by:

STEP 6 — HAIR SOIL™ Formula 2

STRAIGHT • FINE • RELAXED HAIR

The order changes.

Do not apply Mom & Daughter™ immediately after the Leave-In Conditioner as you would for textured hair.

Complete the appropriate moisture and Hair Soil™ treatment first and allow the hair to dry.

Mom & Daughter™ becomes the finishing treatment.

Once the hair is dry, use a very small amount, particularly on dry areas, ends, or places requiring additional softness and frizz control.

This prevents fine or straight hair from becoming unnecessarily heavy.

STEP 4 WITHIN THE CHATTO® METHOD

For textured hair:

1. CLEANSE → 2. CONDITION → 3. PROTECT → 4. SOFTEN & LOCK IN MOISTURE → 5. HYDRATE → 6. FEED

For straight/fine hair, Mom & Daughter™ moves to the finishing position after the hair dries.

That distinction should remain in the final instructions. It is one of the things that makes the CHATTO® Method a hair-specific treatment system rather than a one-routine-fits-everyone product kit.
